How long do dental implants take to heal?

The healing time may take a total of six to eight months. It differs from one patient to the next because it is affected by many factors such as your natural healing abilities, medical history, and any additional treatments that may be needed. The osseointegration process takes the longest to form, sometimes months, which impacts the active dental implant recovery.

Osseointegration is when the gum tissue fuses with the abutment and becomes one whole structure. But if this happens quicker than expected, you will be halfway through your treatment at the four week’s mark and you will only need to have a crown placed. After that, the tissue will continue to heal but it won’t be that obvious and it won’t interfere with your life.
