What can I eat after dental implant surgery?

The first few hours before the effects of the anaesthetic go away, make sure to eat soft foods so as not to apply unnecessary pressure on the surgical sites. Go for a milkshake, mashed potatoes, ice cream, smoothie, pudding, creamy soup, etc. When the area is numbed, it’s easy to disturb the wound without being aware of it, which can aggravate the situation. Do avoid the likes of popcorn, chips, nuts, toast, and other abrasive foods as they can damage your implant. Stay away from carbonated beverages and do not drink through a straw. Try to eat mostly nutritious foods that are rich in vitamins (specifically C 1 and A).

The day after the implant surgery, you can have some cooked veggies, eggs, pasta, etc. Don’t forget to hydrate. Drinking plenty of water between meals will help you feel better and may promote faster healing. One week into recovery, you can go back to eating solid foods little by little.
